Writing

Deborah Frances-White is a well-known script writer who currently has a sitcom script commission - The Dark Ages - for the BBC with Objective. She is currently writing her BBC Radio 4 series Deborah Frances-White Rolls the Dice for So Radio. She has a commission for a screenplay with Redwave Films - Making Babies - she is working with Left Bank Pictures on Giant Leap, she has a project in development with Retort, Fremantle - If They Can't Make It, and has a project in development with Merman (with Chloe Thomas) - Gift Horse.

She has recently had script commissions with Philippa Waller for Retort, Fremantle - Blaggers, Milf and The A to Z of Dating for ITV, the BBC and Channel 4 - and together they have also written two episodes of Young Dracula for CBBC. They sold their first screenplay - co-written with Monica Beletsky - The Wedding Pact - to Fox Searchlight. Deborah's play Escape from Eden was selected for The Cameron Mackintosh New Writing Festival judged by Christopher Hampton. Deborah is currently working on an independent film with New York director Jay Stern to be shot in 2017.

Deborah has co-written The Improv Handbook with Tom Salinsky which is a theatre best seller and is currently going into Second Edition with Bloomsbury. Deborah also co-wrote Off The Mic with Marsha Shandur which was nominated for a 2016 Chortle Award. She is currently writing SuperTribe with Fiona Thompson.
